MetaHuman animator with Daz characters in UE 5.2

Does anybody has converted any of Daz characters to use them with MetaHuman animator

in Unreal Engine 5.2?

  • I suspect that a DAZ character imported into UE5 is not the same as a Metahuman.

  • Very different.  The video said that the metahuman animator would work with any character that used the metahuman rig so it would be possible to rig a daz character with the metahuman rig and use the animator.  I rigged a daz character with the simple UE5 rig and it took quite a bit of effort (even though the bones matched pretty closely).  The metahuman rig has a lot more bones so it would be quite difficult and time consuming.

  • You can convert a Daz character's head into a Metahuman head using the Mesh to Metahuman workflow, but you'd have to be satified with one of the existing Metahuman bodies.  I don't think it's currently possible to get an entire character (body included) onto a Metahuman rig without a whole lot of pain.
