DA Let it Snow

Hello lads. I bought this product https://www.daz3d.com/da-let-it-snow which if I can get it to work is cool. The problem is that when I add the shader it becomes transparent, ie you can see the snow but not the object underneath. It says to apply the shell and then the shader. Can anyone explain to me why? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the answer

If you apply it directly to the object surfaces, it will replace the object's textures, hence the need to add the shell first. That way the snow shader will be applied to the shell and the object will retain the original textures.

The shell adds an extra copy of the mesh, then the snow shader is applied to that to make the snow on top of the model. If you apply the snow sahder to the model you remove its own materials.

  • ok, thanks for the reply. But then, once the shell is applied what do I have to select in the surface to apply the snow shader?

  • Thanks for the reply. I did that, but I don't know what to select next to apply the sheder.

You need to select the Geoshell that you added before applying the shader.

  • Guys, thanks. Looking for something that talked about how to apply the shell I found this tutorial which was of great help to me.

But without your comments I would never have found it. I can't wait to do some tests. Thank you
