DazCentral Useless?
I had to re-install Daz Studio because I was running low on HD space. I had over 300 Gb in my DAZ 3D folder alone. I unlinked my onedrive from my PC years ago because Daz has a tendency to loadup my Documents\DAZ 3D folder thus saturating onedrive. Well this time I was going to doing things smart and use a different location. I first uninstalled Daz Studio and deleted all my Daz related folders that i could find. I verified that I freed up some 300 Gb of space. I installed DazCentral and used DazCentral to change the location of my DIM path. I next used DazCentral to install Daz Studio. I fired up Daz Studio and it pinged me that a new path was found for my files and ask to use it. I selected ok. I proceed to install one figure as a test via DazCentral. The figure showed up in Daz Studio smart content. When I loaded the figure, i was presented with a "File does not exist." error. So, the question arises, why does Daz Studio give me the file error even though I preselected the targeted DIM location in DazCentral beforehand? There seems to be a disconnect between the two apps. I went thru the Content Directory Manager on Daz Studio and saw my new Daz library location. I moved it to the top of the listing but I still could not get pass the file does not exist error. Any favorable thoughts I had on DazCentral are now gone. It wasn't useful in setting up DIM location and you cannot avoid installing it without installing Daz Studio, sounds like the definition of bloatware. I could some suggestions in getting Daz Studio rerouted my new location.
I also noticed the mapped content for my renderosity items were still present in the Content Library even though this was a fresh install. I thought all of that would be wiped when I removed all of my Daz folders on my PC. It seems like I need to do some kind of "flush" to get rid of those maps. Again, any help would be appreciated.

You shouldn't use DAZ Central and DIM both. One or the other, preferably DIM. At least, that's what I've been told.
I myself had to reinstall DAZ a few months ago and ended up uninstalling onedrive because it was messing with stuff.
Uninstalling/reinstalling will not change user data or settings - including content paths. What are your current content paths, what was the error message relating to, and where were the files placed?
And... If one is using DAZ Central, Daz Install Manager (DIM) or manual installation, one should never log in to Daz Studio.
I disagree with that. I only use DIM, but logging in using Daz Studio every now and again will fetch the latest metadata.
Another major advantage is that should you use a file from a product not yet installed, then DS will prompt you with the name of the missing product, rather than just the names of the files it can not find. I will then install that product via DIM (not connect as prompted) and then the asset will load as required.
Yeah, but that requires that one knows what one is doing, which usually is not the case with users that are not familiar with inner workings of DS.
The default installation and start-up procedure for DS is prone to get new users in trouble, or at least wasting storage space with installing everything twice.
Is DazCentral outdated now ?
But the link redirects to DIM
https://www.daz3d.com/get_studio -> https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info
DIM has gained the ability to launch applications, so perhaps.
