Texture Tearing

This happens to me in renders with clothing fairly often. I can't nail down what the issue is... I think it may have something to do with subD?

Any help would be appreciated.

That isn't the color of his skin, though?

It went away when I matched the subD between the clothes and the body. I don't have to do that most of the time, though.

I don't know what the outft is but it could be between layers of clothing or the surfaces of indivual pieces (interior and lining, for example).

Well hide the character visibility and see if it goes away?

Daz doesnt like overlapping geometry so if garment for some reason has doubled up geometry intersecting, that could be issue.

It happens to me quite often, while transferring clothes on the character to Unity.

Usually, I just switch to another clothes in such cases.

Wondering, how developers think - I mostly miss additional morphs to avoid/fix pokethroughs.

  • If it's an under-layer of clothing, check the displacement parameter for all the materials. If it's much bigger on the under layer than the top layer, then that could be causing it. The way to solve it is set the max displacement distance for any & all under-layers as 0 and see if it has an effect.
