I don't think I'd need the whole building, maybe a prop like the one below? Are there any assets that you guys like to use when your superheroes need a ledge to perch on? Thanks in advance.

I haven't found a Chrrysler (or Flat Iron) building in a daz format yet. However, there are a few geleric buildings that might work:
Stonemason's assets are among the best: https://www.daz3d.com/stonemason#filtered=1
In particular this: https://www.daz3d.com/urban-sprawl-3 would give you plenty of options there is an example of its use in a gallery: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery#image=478436
From a different PA this looks like and excellent roof top: https://www.daz3d.com/px-rooftop
Good luck in finding something that works for you.
Matt
Thanks very much for the recommendations! I'll try to look through them. Your scifi renders are really nice
Lots here https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-model/chrysler-building
Hmmmm, I forgot there is another I have that I am sure is legal, it is one in the Unity Asset Store. It's in an Asset Kit called Retro New York City I or the other Retro New York City II. It also has Statue of Liberty model and other stuff. Low Poly and Low Res materials, it's really only a mobile game asset but it's better than nothing.
there is a flatiron building.. (I have it) but lord... it might have been with the old raydream package etc... but google.. probably both are out there
...yeah, would like to see more art deco architecture, even if it is not a known or famous building. There is one in Urban Sprawl 3 the tall one with the pointed green roof pictured in Block #1.
Here's a test i did with it.for an upcoming scene.
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions! Guess I'll spend some time looking at buildings

Thank you. I'm a bit fan of scifi, particularly the Expanse.
Thank you Wendy. The Crysler and the Flatiron both on one site for free! I will have to get them installedas soon as I get home and thank the artist.
I found the flatiron below here: https://free3d.com/3d-model/flatiron-building-v1--594120.html
this is an old model.. you can also pay $3.50 for it ... as I mentioned I thing my original one was packaged with an old Raydream package.
but I grabbed this on and unzipped and windows didn't complain about any viruses ... so it appears safe
and I imported it into daz (it's an obj file) and did the quick render below
Don't forget to cover the entire facade in scaffolding...for that authentic NYC look ;-)
That would be a nice touch, maybe some pigeons flying around as well?
And the Auction sign. }
Sigh, I have a friend who is an editor with Tor books who I think had an entire floor or least some space in the point and they left because they had to have more stable plans than what might happen with an auction off
there were a number of Chrysler building models and even a couple of the Empire State Building when I googled.
At least we can buy scaffolding as an add on:
https://www.daz3d.com/job-site-scaffolding
https://www.daz3d.com/scaffolding-kit
These look cleaner than most NYC pigeons but with some grungy shaders they might work:
https://www.daz3d.com/poser-pigeon-daz-dove
Thanks for the pigeon/dove link. I think it could be very versatile. Also for the scaffolding.
And it looks like it's going to go up for auction again. The winning bidder failed to put up the $19 million deposit within two days, as required, and the #2 bidder has declined to exercise their option, because they feel that the price is much too high for a building that's going to need $100 million in renovations.
So an auction sign is probably still valid.
Ledges with gargoyles are obviously around. This https://www.daz3d.com/gallery#gallery=newest&page=1&image=1282664 just showed up in the gallery. The asset is not listed but if you ask the artist he will probably tel you were he got it.
the gargoyle is possibly a posed retextured DAZ figure
maybe unified skin and Zremeshed afterwards in Zbrush to give a more sculptural look
I do that for statues all the time
I have seen that technique used around before in other works. Maybe not with sculpting, but definitely with retexturing. I think I've done a little myself by applying plastic shaders to get a toy/action figure look. I was kind of thinking of doing something similar if I couldn't find a "toy army man" model, but never got around to it.
..speaking of "gargoyles there is this "grotesque" on the Natioal Cathedral in Sawhington DC: There is an interesting story behind it.
https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/655270/washington-national-cathedral-darth-vader-gargoyle
"The Art Deco spire of the Chrysler Building is a registered trademark (No. 1126888)". https://www.nytimes.com/1998/08/27/garden/design-notebook-what-next-a-fee-for-looking.html
That's pretty neat! And according to the article there are a bunch of other unique ones as well? Wonder what people in the future will make of them
and how can one forget the mooning gargoyle, Freiburg Cathedral?
..or this one in the UK https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/paisley-abbey-gargoyle
...that's good.
Wonder if you guys would like to start a thread with funny grotesques/gargoyles. Seeing all these examples in real life. I'd like to see what you can come up with. Is there a thread for that in the forums?
