Character questions

1. How do I get this item to work? http://www.daz3d.com/celia
2. What can I use from it without having the required products?
3. I installed already. When I get the required product, will it show up in my items?

Basically, the textrues will work on any Victoria 4, Genesis or anything else that uses the V4 UV mapping.

The character morph, without the ++ morphs will be very different.

You may be able to use the skin textures on a v4 model if you don't have the morph pack. Once you get the morph pack, then in the parameters tab of a v4 character, you will see a slider for celia. The more you dial up the slider, the more your character will look like her.

  • 1.   Install it to your library folder (My DAZ 3D Library) preferably using DIM

    2.   Basically nothing if you don;t have Victoria 4, and very little if you do have V4 but not Morphs++

    2.   It should show up anyway whether you have the required products or not, but you may not be looking in the right place.   It will be installed into Poser Formats

You can use that skin on genesis, but not the shape. Worth keeping for that reason. But you need to load up genesis and then go to the poser formats folder. Should be under Character and Maybe also under materialls. Or did they put character presets under poses...

Thing about poser formats folder structure is they didn't make a ton of sense sometimes, but once you find where she is you should be good to go. (for technical reasons, often enough things like material presets were saved in the Pose folder....Daz studio doesn't have that restriction but honors Poser foler structures)

ANd if you want once applied to genesis you could just save it as a new material preset that would be easier to find in the future.

  • Yes, sorry, I just noticed taht it has skins with it, and Genesis is UV Mapped for V4, so it could be useful.

Thank you everyone for clarifying it to me :)

@larsmidnatt thank you! I did find it in poser! I just don't understand why it went to poser folder instead of daz... :(

also how can i save it as material preset?

I tried to save my characters (female genesis with partial child morph) with clothes and it was saved naked and bald in unassigned... is there a way to save the whole thing? I didn't want to put the hair again and make all the editions to make it longer etc... Can I also save a modified hair?

Anything from generation 4 or early goes into poser folders. Sometimes also Daz folders...but typically poser. Often even newer props are poser format

material preset is just that. Material preset of what is selected. You could save scene subset or wearable subset to save scene or just clothes worn at that time.

if u simply dialed in morphs for hair just save as a pose or shaping preset with the hair selected. Then apply it again later. On my mobile so can't pull up which works best atm

Just look under file save as. Try looking there

    should get u going though
