Prop vs Morph question
Alright I have made a stride. I was able to make a morph in hexagon and send it to daz and see the pop up box that asks me what to do with it. I want to add the morph and pose. However, eventhough all the names are the same, it will still only go back to daz as a "prop" instead of a morph because the geometry has changed. Well yes the geometry has changed because I morphed the figure. Anyone know how to send it back from hex to daz not as a prop but as a morph so that I can continue posing??
Thanks

That the geometry was "changed" means that the number of "lines/dots/faces" changed and that cannot be so for a morph. We can only move that which exists around, then send it over the bridge to D/S and the morph should be created. I do not normally include poses in the morphs myself ... more normally would use the "reverse" options so that the existing pose/morphs do not double up.
So is it possible to create body parts in hexagon and send them back to daz as a body part that can be manipulated without it being an entire prop??
? what exactly are you trying to do?
Well, create a limb for instance? I know I can purchase but i am poor. Ha ha.
For your own use only, you could export out the figure, import that into Hexagon, delete the parts you do not want ... and export. Close Hexagon. Open Hexagon and import it back in. Fix the name and Shading Domain/mats NAMES ... if you do NOT "touch" as in add to or weld the mesh ... it could keep the same uvmaps it had ... export it out.
Now whether you want a prop [no rigging] or a figure [rigging] will affect the work flow. For a prop, in Hexagon, "zero" the position and export it out. Import it into D/S, position the limb where you want it and save it as a prop file. Once it is saved, you can send it over the bridge to Hexagon and make some morphs for it.
For a rigged figure you would be looking at geo-grafting and that's quite a bit of reading to be done. There are a few threads in the forum, it does not matter which modeler is used, the work is about the same. I was quite happy to simply purchase 4-arms ;-)
If there's any chance you may be redistributing said item, check out Ghastly's gallery at sharecg.com. He has a "make human" figure and some other items which have less retrictions on use.
thank you
