Odd upper arm distortion when posing.

...lately I've been getting this same distortion using poses for G8F that involve raising the arms..  The pose I am using is from the Mei Lin basic poses for G8 using the "Base Female" version TCE Various 18) .  I zeroed out the character pose using the drop down menu in he parameters pane and applied the pose again but the same situation occurred. it's as if the bend is occurring at the upper arm instead of the collar.  I could find no hidden JCMs that were causing this

The frustrating part is in this case, I used the same exact pose on the character in the screen shot below a few weeks ago and it worked fine, I only made some minor modifications to the character since then but nothing. that would or should  have had an effect on the shoulder bend.   I also applied the same pose to a different character and it worked fine so it is something in the riggging of this character that was corrupted somehow but I haven't a clue as to what caused it.

A while back when this happened with a different similar pose on another character I was in the same quandary as to what went wrong and also could not figure out a solution save for going into the joint editor to fix the issue, but that something I should not have to do.

ETA

I also wonder why when I select the upper arm with the Active Pose tool I am getting pins showing up on the head and upper chest.  I have never seen this before when using Active Pose. I disabled them using the Universal Tool but once I go back to Active Pose they appear again.  I am wondering if this may not be the root of the issue I'm dealing with

Have you isntalled any new characters of morph sets for Gensis 8 Female between the pose working and its not working?

...two characters, Kayo 8 and Khemsit 8 back on the 10th (7 days ago), however, as I mentioned, I tested the same pose on a totally different character of mine last night and it worked just fine.

The character in teh OP doesn't use either of the two I recently installed in the mix.

If it were an issue with the characters it would affect all using the base figure, probably regardless of the morphs applied. What happens if you save a Shaping preset for this character, then apply it to a base figure in a new scene with the pose already applied?
