Firefly problem, ridiculous amount of them.

The amount of fireflys depends on the viewports distance from the lit up object, I've neve seen anything like this, why is it happening? In the screenshots im using a character testing light set up that I've been using for a while and I never had problems like this. Help pls.

  • doesn't matter, I restarted Daz a few times and it fixed itself.

That is an extreme example indeed! However, I would suggest that it's not the distance from the object that is causing it but how much the preview renderer is having to deal with; In the close up it's only dealing with the head and in the zoomed out one it's dealing with the entire body texture.

You'll find many people suggest that restarting Daz before doing an actual render does help and so there is obviously some feeling that the iray preview can "clog up" the video memory. So perhaps if you have been using the iray preview a lot before the issue you posted about happened then that may explain it? However, I would have thought that one restart would have been enough.
