Customizing Clothing

Hello everyone, does anyone know (or maybe you can) someone who can alter an item of clothing to the specifics that I want?  Or even link me to a tutorial on how to alter clothing? Thanks! - Ski

Note that in general it is not permissible to send a model to others for modificastion, or to have them send an modified version back. However, new textures and morphs are usually OK.

Thanks for the responses. Is there a way to get ahold of the artists to ask them directly?

Which clothing is it you are thinking to modify?

I would think that there are many in shop here (and other places) that resemble what you are after.

And the images attached are in different styles.

I couldn't find any exact matches in the store. I did find three swimsuits that are somewhat close, assuming the high cut legs are the most important feature for you.

The beads and front straps of the monokini can be made invisibile by adjusting the opacity cutout or opacity in the surface tab. If you use the 3DL textures, you will need to apply a different shader to the beads in order to make them transparent(or creeate an opacity map).

You may be able to alter swiimsuits to what you want with opacity maps rather than editing the geometry. Here are some basic tutorials on opacity and opacity maps in IRAY.

    Skiman44,

Would something like this work for you?  Even though it is a halter-top style, I have the base mesh to make it into a "tank-top" style.  Also, which model is this for G3F, G8F, G9F?  I currently have a freebie tank-thong style suit for G3F and G8F over at Renderosity, as shown in the smaller renders.

    Thanks,

    David

Here is another example base mesh closer to the picture of the black and white swimsuit.  I can leave the "armholes" large or tighten them up to sit more towards the armpit.  Let me know what works for you.  I've modeled this around G3F, but can make this work with G8F and G9F too.

    Thanks,

    David

Awesome! Thank you so much for the help! The outfit in the second example looks awesome just the way it is. It's for a G8.1 figure. Let me know what you want for it. And what is your name on Renderosity, I would love to support you - Ski

Well, an update.  The model is done, but UV mapping in both Hexagon and Blender is jacked at the time, as shown below.  I brought the mesh into D|S, did the transfer utility, and saved as a wardrobe item.  I fit it to both G3F and G8F, and put them through some rather radical poses.  Most work ok, but there is some crotch distortion with extreme bends, which is expected.  I'll push this out as a simple freebie, but re-launch it with proper morphs, JCM, etc.  I also added the base "Lycra" type IRAY shader I have from the first Swimsuit freebie.

    Thanks,

    David

Also, and I apologize for my COMPLETE lack of knowledge, how will I pull the swimsuit into my library, and where do I save it to?  I'm really bad at the technical stuff, thanks! - Ski

    Hi Skiman44,

Here is a "workable" edition.  It is for G3F, but will auto-fit G8F.  The UV map is twisted, and I haven't added in any JCM morphs yet, but do have dForce, so it "should" work for now.  I have a base Lycra/Spansex shader in place, so the cloth, leg, arm, and neck/chest band surfaces can be color changed as you wish.  I will re-work this into a more feasible outfit, and re-release when it's ready.  As for where to place the items, I have them organized by folder/directory in the zip file.  Please let me know what you think.
