Ribs and spine
One thing that always puzzled me with Genesis 8 and now Genesis 9 is that, although the figures are super-realistic in many respects, they never seem to have visible ribs. I'm thinking of distinct rib bones, rather than a defined ribcage, which they certainly can have. Yet this is a noticeable feature of many people's bodies, and not limited to just the thinnest people either (I can still see my own ribs, and I am a good deal less skinny than I was when I was younger).
With Genesis 8, I think nearly the only figure that even acknowledged the existence of ribs was Sakura 8; I ended up applying the Sakura 8 ribs morph to practically every medium-to-slender figure I rendered. I had hopes that G9 might address this, but it seems that we're in for another generation of unnaturally-smooth ribcages.
The same is true of the spine. Many people -- again, not just the skinniest -- have sharply defined spines. Genesis 8 and 9, not so much.
Are there enough polygons in the mesh that this might get addressed by a morph package in the future? I assume so, because I notice that some PA figures such as HH Belle have a hint of definition in this area, so it seems to be possible.
Or is there some magical dial that I'm missing that would give our characters back their skeletons?

This product does exist from Sickleyield. Seems perfectly made for what you're talking about
https://www.daz3d.com/sy-spine-and-ribs-detail-hd-for-genesis-8-and-81
Thank you for posting a link to that. I thought I had it already and couldn't find it anywhere in my library.
ShapeShift for G8 has plenty of spine options: https://www.daz3d.com/shape-shift-bundle-for-genesis-8-female-s-and-male-s
I think Meneer Wolfman offered an excellent suggestion, but Emma and Jordi have a rib morph in their Shapes and Body Morphs which used to be sold here but is now at Gumroad. Here'a a quick render showing the Rib Bone morph, although I don't think it's quite what you are requesting:
If you look at the promos then those morphs are really aimed more for zombies than humans.
when I was young my shoulderblades were very prominent as well as clavicles and lower ribs and I have never seen that on a DAZ character
not as prominent as scapular winging, I tried Googling an image and saw that and now feel queasy
This G8 product has a ribs definition morph https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/144201/super-curves-remastered-g8-and-81-female
Supermassive morphs probably are best if one wants to add some details to the body without drastically overdoing it. I like those clavicle and neck details more than anything else made for G8+.
I suspect that was more a Daz-acceptable way to promote them than because the products were intended solely for that sort of character.
I just bought Sickleyield's Ribs and Spines within the last hour and have played around with them. I totally agree. You can go subtle to extreme with these morphs which is probably an obvious given.
This is confimed by SY in her DeviantArt account - the flesh-toned promo(s) were rejected.
Pretty strange, there are plenty of promos of bare rib cages in the store, almost all bikini and lingerie products have such promos.
It wasn't the flesh, it was apparently thought it might be an encouragment towards eating disorders!
I have to admit, I love the idea of SY's morphs, but the absence of serratus magnus muscles is unfortunate. I may still grab it at some point. The shape shift bundle and super curves set are also enticing.
Yes! Thank you for making this thread. Thank you for the link to the SuperMassive morph. That might be my first buy at the other store. I did have the theory Daz was trying to stay away from the appearence of eatting disorders, but only at the bottom end of the BMI scale, morbidly obese is fine. :D Interesting to hear the SY promo's were rejected. Would be interest if anyone wants to post a realistic render using them, I kinda pegged them as a bit cartoon.
I think most people at the lower-end of the BMI scale, say 18.5 - 21 have the individual ribs visable and a spine that sticks out, also those with low body-fat %.
https://www.daz3d.com/alexandra-8 <- healthy BMI, but visable ribs, seems reasonable!
DD Keres has ribs and spine detailing :)
