Genesis 9 only modifies clothing in parameters

I can't get the Genesis 9 body morphs to work. When I try, only the clothing changes in size and shape. I am only selecting the figure, and not the clothing, but only the clothing changes. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change? Thank you!

That's a feature of the Genesis range. The clothing is meant to change with the character.
Before the genesis range, in order for characters to have clothes fit them, the character had to be made from a set range of morphs. Then the clothes could be made to incorporate the same morphs, and by means of tweaking the same name morph dials in the clothes and character, you could get the character to be properly clothed. This was usually hidden from view by being done through deliberate cross-talk where every dial with the same name had the same setting.
When the Genesis range came, a different method of fitting the clothes was chosen. The clothes were fitted to a particular base figure, and when the facets of the figure move, the clothes move too to match the same offset as happened when referencing the base figure.
So, moving clothes when the character changes is a feature, not a bug.

Richard
If the figure is staying the same inside the clothing make sure that you don't have two figures loaded, with one hidden that the clothing is fitted to and that you are setting morphs on.
I think I figured out the problem. The morphs I was using were available only for the clothing, so I could make the clothes fat, but not the character (I wanted a chubby character). I tested the character alone without clothing and those morphs were unavailable, so I think I have to download them separately.
Those were probably projection morphs meant to adjust the clothes, not actual character morphs.
