Garibaldiexpress or Look At My Hair?

Hi,

I was on my way to purchase one of the two programs, Garibaldiexpress or Look At My Hair. Is there any advantages / disadvantages (comfort, speed, quality) of any of them? So far I was tending more to Garibaldi, but then I am not sure if it works flawless in DS4.8 (as made for 4.5 and somewhere I read, you have to convert files first?) and support doesn't seem to reply to my inquiries... Also many of the tutorial videos on the product site are disabled?

So my basic question (for both programs) would be, does it work in DS4.8 (on a Mac).

Could anyone give a recommendation?

I have both. Neither of them work seemlessly with Iray. You have to export your results, and then re-import in DAZ. Styling the hair is a dreadful pain because they don't support collision surfaces and you end up pushing hair into or all the way through the head. If you have the time to put into it, some of the results from LAMH make very good looking fur, but not hair in my opinion. Garabaldi makes better hair, again, if you have the time and patience, but I haven't seen a good example of longer hair. 

I'm just a casual user, though, and don't really have the time to put into it, so, YMMV.

i have both, and prefer mesh hair. I've had both since they came out years ago. Both are fine for fur. But neither collides with the mesh, so it's far too easy to get hair inside their faces and things like that. Fur and male hair isn't so bad, female hair is a huge chore. People stopped posting presets for LAMH years ago...

Both are good for the price, but you may not replace mesh hair with them. Use them for certain situations.

For some reason I am inclined to say that LAMH support is going to be better. GH dev isn't releasing new stuff, while AM is. I think AM is a fixture and overall he's been easy to work with over the years (I also have Infinito from AM, which is quirky but he responds). So for support LAMH, but I kinda like GH a slight bit better. But GH may not be here forever...just a hunch, no inside info. AM or Kendal will answer your LAMH questions though..
