What a fantastic bundle. I'm in!

Yeah, I was pretty excited when I saw him. Unfortunately my Daz budget is pretty miniscule these days.
I love him! Sadly, my rendering computer is in bits, so I can probably wait to pick him up. Everyone please post renders, since I can't play. :(
The hair and face paint in the header image, are they available?
Thehair looks like one of AprilYSH's, although I haven't gone looking to confirm. The hair in the bundle isn't it, though and all the other hair items appear to not be Lactis Imagry except for the beard that's labeled a DAZ Original and no specific artist's name.
Oh, thank you! It is AprilYSH https://www.daz3d.com/ardamir-hair-for-genesis-8-and-81
Ok... here is the link (for all of you who were wondering what the heck ArtAngel is talking about)
Thimor 9
Really interesting character, and I quite like what's included in the bundle (especially the beards).
Daz seems to have set out to fill the male side of the Genesis 9 series exclusively with older, white and not particularly handsome characters. Why this is so, I have my own ideas, which I don't want to explain here, and which go further than the standard explanation that 'white characters sell better'. But maybe it's just because Daz is producing a larger fantasy series (which hopefully won't be superseded by cyberpunk again...).
Apart from that, I really like Thimor 9, and the bundles are obviously really good.
Interesting, but "Ouch".
Base price $59.99, the equivalent to the $44.95 for a G8 base character. a 33.5% price hike.
Like I said: "Ouch, that gouge hurt.". I do know there has been inflation, boy has there been inflation. But I'm stuck with no increase in income and increased expences everywhere; Food being close to 100% increase in the last 24 months. Sorry, interesting, very interesting, but unaffordable at the moment.
Regards,
Richard.
The character is amongst the best so far for G9 and the contents of the bundles look good, but after having spent so much during the weekend and on the recent $1 and $2 sales, the price is just too much...
Wow, Daz, what a striking character! And most of the promo renders are on another level through contrast, definition, top and backlighting. Of the bundle, only fjaa3d's Dwarf Outfit interests me, although the Dwarven Dwelling looks fabulous. But the conspicuous absence of even a single Genesis figure in any of its promos---if it's like several of that vendor's other sets---makes me suspect the environment maxes out the memory by itself. The same vendor did the hair and an armor in the Mega Bundle, and I'm very stingy nowadays about what I install on my 8Tb SSD after seeing the exorbitant size of their files.
At least this time there are 2K maps, not just 4K - though I don't know how they are assigned (whether it is mixed according to need or low- and high-res versions).
what is the crusty stuff on his face? it looks interesting
Is there no orange banner? Sorry if I missed a mention of that if so.
That image of him as a dwarf with the beard and all, kinda reminds me of the actor Ian McShane from Gods of America and other series and movies.
Unfortunately no, not that I am aware of, but still have fingers crossed. And these mathematical induced sales drive me mad, but it is March Madness . . . I did try every which way to Sunday to get the price down. I actually dumped the cart of 13 items three times, reordering the items to see if the stacking of discounts changed but the best price I could conjure up was $56.66 and in a cart of 13 items, changing the order does not change the price. My still mad was carted at 17.49. Let's pretend it was 10.00 even. You need a budget of $80.00 to buy this bundle.
* It is slightly cheaper to add the still new and shopping would be less complicated and faster if sales were simpler. But I loved this bundle enough to work through the math.
Try using a cheap Mad Related item instead of a Still Mad item
With 1 $1.19 DAZ+ Mad Related item The Thimor Mega Bundle is $69.96 (2 items in cart $70.76)
With 1 $1.19 DAZ+ Mad Related item plus 2 $3.99 Grab Bag items the Thimor Mega Bundle is $66.46 (4 items in cart $75.24)
Goodness and Thanks to you both for doing the math since I hadn't had a chance yet, ... but now know what to add! :)
Thank you for sharing a better bottom line. I opted to stick with my Still Mad because RedCrow3DArt is a hard one for me to avoid. I own a bunch pf carts but not one with a broken wheel. Also I had a bunch of items in my wish list that were on for $3 to $4 dollars and despite the fact I felt like a thief for getting a steal of a deal, I carted them and checked out.
Right - the female Thimor is great!
Psoriasis, maybe, I think.
These are like the Giant in the Jack & the Beanstalk tale and various Dwarf characters that would be drawn in those old illustrated fairy tale books.
I like the new characters, too. It seems like we haven't had add-on characters for a base in quite a while. Too bad they don't have their own textures, though.
Really?
I think I need to come to Daz's defense here. Maybe you are searching the store differently than me, or maybe your eyes are able to see things that I can't but "older, white, men"?
I went through all the characters one would see if you set the store filters to Character Genesis 9 & Figure G9 and of the 708 items listed, These are the only ones I found that I think would be considered older white males
Nikolai - Well, its "Santa" so its is kind of going off of what most consider the typical "Santa Figure".
and
KOO Caldwell HD for Genesis 9 Legit "Older white dude"
We add Thimor and a dirrivitive, Cliff, and we can say that there are 4 older white dude characters. This kind of takes it out of context as Santa and Thimor are built around themes, its not just the character its the Character + Environment that they are selling. Santa/Christmas and Thimor/Fantasy Sword & Sorcery. The beauty of Daz though is even though Thimor, its supposed to be a Fantasy Dwarf Character... with different hair, and adjustment to skin tone, it could be Native American, Hispanic... well anything actually... as Daz does provide morphing dials.
For a relatively new figure, there is plenty diversity and its only going to grow in numbers as time passes... So I think Daz is doing a good job of providing diversity. Right now, skimming the catalog for products sold as MALES have
Hispanic? Redz Kaz - Aiden - Tyson
African Descent? Ghalen - Tyler - Dikembe -
East Europe/Middle East? Sandor -
Asian? Hiroshi -
Mixed Ethnicity? Kyle -
For those that are unhappy with the selections, maybe its your time to shine and join the ranks of PAs. You can bring your vision of Diversity to the table so we can all benefit.
Start working on that Crispus Attucks character and we can set him in his Revolution world of wonder.
A 2003 Study showed that 16 MILLION men alive today share genetics that trace back to Genghis Khan... so how about doing a Genghis Character that we can combine with the nifty new Daz Horse 3 and have em' swarm over the plains from the Pacific Ocean to the Danube River....
There are lots of possibilites, I suggest that you pick something that is close to your heart and let the creative Daz juices flow. If it is a decent product, made well and conforms to store standards, I am sure it will be added.
At the end of the day, I think Thimor is one of the best G9 Characters to date. PAs are coming into their own with working with this new "material" and I am sure the best is yet to come. Hats off to Daz for continuing to keeping an eye on Diversity concerns, yet still walking the tight rope of business models.
I wanted those outfit texture add-on's, so here is what I put into the cart -
When I was 15 to 18 myself (40 years ago), anyone over thirty looked "old", my definition "old" has somewhat changed since then, as now anyone under thirty looks like a teenager at best
Perception of age seems to change based on the one viewing and their age and experiences, and the one being viewed, and their fitness, weight, behavior, dress and activities.
When I was 18 and in Air Force Basic Training, one of my TIs I thought was very old, late 20s/30s. But the day before we graduated, she and her team TI, talked to us normally and we found out she was 23! Younger than some of the women she had been yelling at for weeks.
As medical science has improved, a lot of people have improved their diet, excercise, and hopefully decreased those habits that damage their bodies (smoking, drinking, drugs). So a person in their 50s who has not taken care of their body can look and be in worse shape than one who is 80. It is dependent upon personal choices and access to medical care.
Also in American culture we have changed how an adult dresses based on age. What my grandmother who was born in the early 1900s would expect to wear when she went out in public for shopping in the 1960s/70s/80s, would not even be considered as necessary. This included a dress, hat, gloves, handbag, jewerly, makeup. And you never went outside in curlers, even with a scarf if you were a lady. A gentleman was in a suit, hat, gloves, oxfords.
How many people do you see shopping in pajama pants, tees, flip flops today? Either sex.
With a coupon for 85% off three G9 items a couple of days ago (inc bundles), I'm in no hurry to buy... V9 was heavily discounted while she was still New if memory serves...
(as he puts Thimor in cart...doh)
Couldn't find a combination that I was happy with the bundles, so I got just the character with 24 miscellaneous items from the lists... 87% off for the cart is good enough.
Yes! I remember as a pre-schooler/Kindergartener distinctly thinking my best friend's older sister was so grownup, but she was only 9 or 10. I found it irritating that she would change the channel from our violent cartoons to mature adult shows like Mister Roger's Neighborhood and such.
