If you buy a Mega Bundle . . . or a Pro Bundle . . .

If you give a mouse a cookie buy a Mega Bundle shouldn't DAZ acknowledge that we own the lesser bundles when the mega bundle includes every product in the lesser priced bundles? When we buy a Pro Bundle shouldn't Daz acknowledge we own the starter bundle and consider it purchased? If you agree (or disagree) with this please post your comments. Surely I am not alone in this thought.

I think that it's just a limitation of the store framework. When you click on the product you will see the contents grayed out. You can use the DAZ deals Chrome product to hide the lesser bundles.
It would be nice if that is the way it worked. You can "buy them for free" when Daz has those "buy for the price of the items you don't have" type of sales - although I don't know if there is a secret to finding qualifying bundles.
I use Daz deals and thank goodness it exists. If Daz Deals knows we own them all so does so does DAZ. And I love what Daz Deals has done but what if it disappears one day? Then what would we rely on without wasting a ton of time?
Yes it would. I am not referring to accumulating a bundle over time, which I often do these days thanks to how the store works. The thing is when we buy a pro bundle in parts and pieces, we do not get the whole bundle. There are extras you get with a pro bundle that are not available unless you buy the Pro Bundle in one clean swoop. For example the Daz Horse 2 pro bundle included a complete 8 pc texture pack for 5 breeds where as the starter only had t textures for 3 breeds. So basically to get multiple textures or anatomicals you have to by the pro bundle. So I get why DAZ thinks we don't own all of it. Usually we don't when we piece meal the bundles over time. I am referring to buyers of Mega Bundles and buyers of Pro Bundles. Like the Tara 8 World Adventurer Mega Bundle (Tara 8 is in 2 bundles and some core characters are in several and the whole idea of a Mega bundle is you do own them all. My point is ownership should be refelcted as such. If Daz can manually add unpurchase items like Genesis Starter to my library, it can add a sku for a starter bundle. The Daz Horse 3 is in 3 Bundles. If one buys the Mega bundles those skus should be auto added to the lproduct library. It's a simple script. No need to dislay those as unowned when you buy the greater or 'umbrella bundle'. Now I typically cherry pick the bundles because the hazzle of checking for owned items exists regardless.
I agree. And I shop mostly on my iPad so can't use DAZ Deals and wish DAZ would do something similar. If a third party can grey out boxes, you'd think DAZ could do it.
This very logical question has been asked multiple times across several different store softwares now, and DAZ has repeatedly been made aware of the issue and that many users have asked for it. As it's not been fixed to date, I would not expect to get any traction now.
I would guess the big bundles don't count the small bundles as included products in the store database. One would think it could be fixed, and that hasn't happened for whatever reasons.
This has been a regular complaint for years.
The big bundle doesn't actually include the smaller bundles, it includes the products they contains. It's due to a limitation of the store software which didn't handle "bundles in bundles" and wouldn't give you the individual products from the smaller bundle if the bigger bundle was setup as containing the smaller one.
You can use the daz deals add-on to hide the smaller bundles, and take advantage of the occasional "buy bundle for the price of items you don't own" sales to buy them for free so they show up as purchased.
It's just frustrating. Although the shop software has its limitations it should be not that hard to write some batch processes which for example add bundles included in a mega bundle to users accounts automatically. If this would be on the agenda of course.
It's also something that they apparently have to do anyway everytime that they run one of those "buy the bundle for the cost of the items you don't have" promotions. I suspect one of the major problems has to do with the fact that they frequently run the complete-set and sub-set bundles of the same items for different price discounts, so they have to add additional qualifiers... but that's just idle speculation on my part and should in no way be considered to be a proven fact. One way that you CAN get rid of them, though, is to buy the sub-set when they have one afore-mentioned "buy the bundle for the cost of the items you don't have" sales, as then it costs you nothing since you already have all of the items, but takes the smaller bundle out of your "do not own list" in the DAZ processing.
there's a lot of old stuff they have sereral bundles of stuff that contain the same stuff so it is easy to accidently rebuy what you already have but you'd think with the newer releases you'd think they'd fix somehow to show that if a smaller bundle is included in a mega bundle that wouldn't show up such as the Daz Horse 3 Mega Bundle I bought the others show up for me in store still as well as other stuff
This wouldn't work if the store auto-calculates the price of bundles based on components, since the smaller bundles would inflate the price of the larger bundle - but I don't think that's the case as bundles don't seem to drop in price when items are removed, IIRC.
167% agree, which is the primary reason why I don't buy bundles... :P
I don't know how the store is setup on the backend but this would work fantastically. Mega bundle includes Bundle 1, Bundle 2 and Bundle 3. Bundle 1 includes character, and these assets. Bundle 2 blah blah blah.
If you buy Mega Bundle, then the store registers that you bought Bunldes 1, 2 and 3, and they stop showing up. It is annoying AF when you're looking through and you're thinking, "Wait...didn't I already get this model/outfit/scene that's in this bundle?"
There already are bundles that include other bundles, for example "Arcadia 8.1 Pro Bundle" includes "KuJ Magic Wizard Bundle"

I had all of the horse bundles, but because I bought the Mega bundle, none of them counted as a Key item.
The page is hiding items owned - if you open in a private window you will see that the mega bundle is there as a key item.
Considering interactive licenses, some bundles are actually attractive. Sometimes the mere content matches by itself. Can't speak for everyone, and perhaps, not sometimes.
Display could be improved, agreed.
They have aded the SKUs under the key items, so if there are more SKUs than visible keys there is a good chance you already own one.
Okay! Thanks. Good to know. I stand corrected.
Back when I started buying things in 2010 or so, starter bundles were included in pro bundles. I forget when that changed but it is a bit of an annoyance to constantly have to check whether I own something. Proof I've bought too much already and shouldn't be buying anything more, right?
That most likely changed when they moved from the old custom store software to Magento, which was in 2012 IIRC.
