Iray preview stuck in clay render until I move the camera
Scene that I re-used for a series and worked fine for 30+ images now started acting up. First I got "Error during rendering" / "Renderer is in use" messages which required me to reboot the entire machine to get rid of in the first place but not permanently until I lowered SubD - if Daz can't do the calculations due to lack of system resources or whatever, I'd much appreciate if at least it closed its failed sub processes properly. It got to the point where it could release an error message so it knows it has reached that point.
Then I continued on that scene and eventually it stopped going to Iray preview, it sits there stuck in clay stage until I wiggle the camera, then Iray flashes through but falls back to clay once the camera it still.
"Crime Scene Bathroom" with 2 G8.

Do you have any Iray Decal Nodes on instanced objects? Iray decal node on instance will cause that issue with NVIDIA iray preview.
There are some other issues in your thread but they seem unrelated. You can just hide objects until iray preview works to figure out which object is culprit.
I'll check on that, good hint.
From memory there are two objects which rendered ok so far, but I'll have a look anyway.
Another issue I've seen that can cause the iray preview to stall is if a polygon heavy clothing item, or the main character itself, has smoothing enabled and I make an adjustment to the character. At the bottom of the UI, it will say 'Applying Mesh Smoother' - it seems iray is waiting for the mesh smoother to finish but in the meantime is interfering with the mesh smoothing from finishing. In reality, the mesh smoother should stop iray from trying to render until it's finished rather than iray trying to run concurrently.
It was one item parented to the G8 that is invisibled for the moment and has decals on it. Invisible the parent node but not the decals = Iray won't kick in. I think I'll file this as a bug.
