iClone 6.2 - Improved Lip-syncing
With the release of the Character Creator and iClone 6.2 comes an innovative new improvement to the lip-sync tool in iClone. Character Creator (CC) characters have the ability to utilize 300 phoneme shape combinations for the most accurate and natural-looking lip-sync yet!
In addition, there are now even more powerful tools available to give users more options and flexibility when generating and editing character lip-sync:
1) Keyframe reduction provides a quick and easy way to get rid of excess phoneme keys to make the initial lip-sync simpler and more manageable.
2) Smoothing can be applied to the lips, tongue, and jaw to provide a more even and natural looking transition between phoneme shapes.
3) The ability to apply different effects to separate parts of the same lip-sync offers users more flexibility when dealing with larger audio clips, allowing them to create shouting mouth movements at one part and murmurs or whispers in another.
4) The lips, tongue, and jaw can now be edited separately for complete control over even the smallest details of your character's lip-sync.

Wow, character creator is very impressive! As a modeler that sees the results of piracy daily, it's really nice to see a program like this that looks to solve all beginning game developers needs for characters without them having to use meshes that aren't meant or designed for that purpose, which we see quite often. Now when they ask about where to get assets for their game I can poiint out this program, sweet!
I do have a couple of questions I didn't see answers to on the page for it. Can you export with just the PRO Suite for personal use and in what formats?
Also, everything is included and there is no importing anything, correct?
Hi there FSMCDesigns,
Thank you for your questions. We are really excited about the Character Creator, as it will indeed open a whole new world of possibilities for real-time, game-poly character designs.
- So for the Character Creator you will need to have your iClone 6 PRO updated to version 6.2. If you only plan to animate inside iClone then you don't need anything else, besides the Character Creator tool + iClone 6.2 PRO.
- Now, if you wish to export your character outside of iClone, then you will additionally need 3DXChange 6 - Pipeline version (also updated to free version 6.2), which is the exporting tool from iClone.
The process will then be Character Creator > iClone 6 > 3DXchange Pipeline > FBX, BVH, OBJ.
Everything you need is already included in your free Character Creator tool, but you could also consider purchasing additional CC content packs that bring more body templates, skin textures and clothing designs to the table. But take note that if you wish to create characters with the new content pack materials, and you wish to later export these new character designs to other tools outside of iClone, then you will need to purchase the CC Content Bundle EXPORT LICENSE version. >> This is very important to remember. <<

Yes iClone a far better choice for the figures in games than the high poly DAZ ones, DAZ content is more suited for cut scenes.
i have pipeline myself for exporting to Carrara mostly but also bough the DAZ game developers license in anticipation of doing VR stuff but still figuring out what is all involved, and do not own VR set even so far, have Unreal4 and been playing with that importing stuff.
i am more interested in making an interactive immersive environment than a game as such.
Thanks for the info, very much appreciated!!
Continuing with JaguarElla's comments ---- Daz characters are indispensible when you wish to create beautiful, highly-detailed characters for cut scenes and poses. But when you need game-optimized, animation-ready characters, then the Character Creator is an option to quickly generate assets to later animate in your favorite engine.
Hi, does anybody bought CC Content Bundle EXPORT LICENSE version and succeded
with downloading files for it. When I open the provided RL link in their downloader,
the "Start" button is greyed out and I could not get the files downloaded.
I have filled the support request, but the message, I received, says 2 to 3 working days wait time.
Probably an early adopter problem...
too bad the 3dXchange pipeline program is so expensive. which i think you need to actually reimport any iclone animation from daz3d back to daz3d........is there a dedicated import for daz3d now with 3dxchange 6? would be nice to use for trying to get google warehouse items into daz3d for fun but yeah........iclone is OK ive tried it in the past but its a pretty expensive pipeline to use for those like myself that are just mostly do it as a hobby.
To upgrade the Pipeline package from v5 to v6 is pretty expensive for the new features so I've not bothered. I bought the Pipeline package at DAZ but there's no way to upgrade here and take advantage of the sales unfortunately.
Hey guys, thank you for bringing this up. I just talked to our team in charge of special deals and promotions in the Daz Store. And we are considering the option of offering special Upgrade Packages for Daz users. Would this be something that a large group of Daz users would like? If we get enough feedback, then this could definitely get the ball rolling on the subject.
