Just purchased Accordion and Poses for Genesis 9, 8, and 3 | Daz 3D by Protozoon. It is a wonderful product. Using Genesis 8, because I have an outfit that works for it, I was able to use the preset poses for it, however, the accordion doesn't change pose with the character except for the 01. Is this a "parenting" problem?

Maybe it is set to want Genesis 8.1 at the base, not 8 - assuming you are using the correct pose set. You could load the Accordian onto Genesis 8.1 Male, then copy the Accordoan pose to Genesis 8.
Hi! I'll take a look. It should work with G8 and G8.1 the same way.
Ok. I tried with G8 and G8.1 male and couldn't replicate your problem. For me it worked nicely. Perhaps your have somehow dragged the Accordeon to be parented differently: sometimes DS node tab mixes things up when clicking there! The accordion should be parented to 'Upper Chest' -node.
If the problem persists lets make more tests.

(Just to be sure, you first load G8 male then 'PRZ Accordion for G8 Male' preset for the smart prop and then 'PRZ Accordion Playing Pose 02 Base G8 Male' etc. poses?)
@Protozoon,
thank you for looking into this so quickly. In my first attachent, I show that I used the sliders to expand the accordion to the character pose, not too well.
I will try your hint to parent to "Upper Chest" node. I did not see that in the product files in Smart Content. Ah, I must always parent the chest straps to "Upper Chest Node" as well. Now it works! I am so happy! May I ask where was the instruction to parent located? Is there other information with the product?
The accordion is not 'dorky'. There is much more music in the world than Weird Al. One of my favorite genre of music is Zydeco, Louisiana Cajun music. Clifton Chenier was "the man" when it came to playing Zydeco style accordion. The music, with a nice rum and cola, will make toes tap, and levitate dancers either the 2 step or a full on reel on a hot summer's night. Click on the photos to hear on Youtube.
Clifton Chenier
Clifton Chenier Blues!
Up in northern parts, polka is still very popular, just about always includes maestros on the accordion.
I played accordion (among other instruments) in a bluegrass/Americana band, wherein I played and sang Don't Stop Believing by Journey.
@Gordig
Beautiful. I can hear it "in accordion". Olden days, knew a Jug band, also played blue grass, old folksongs, old blues. 12 string guitar, dobro guitar, 4 and 4 string banjos, washtub bass and standup, fiddle, lute, dulcimer, and hand percussion sticks, sand blocks, gourds all mighty! washboard, Good, good times! I hope as I get more memory to 'reconstruct' some of those wonderful times. Oh, I'm not a musician. I am a very good audient.
Hi!
You don't have to parent anything - hence no instructions. The smart prop does it all for you. I think you didn't have G8 selected in the node tab when you loaded the accordion prop. Just make sure the g8 character is selected before loading the 'PRZ Load Accordion for G8 Male' preset and the accordion will parent itself to upper chest and the chest harness to the g8 like clothes (the straps are conforming). Like all smart props in the store: swords, clothing etc.

Edit: I made a short video clip to demonstrate: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vwkmqal7hkedohu/Video%208.2.2023%2C%206.27.01.mov?dl=0
Btw, I never use Smart Content, it always confuses me :) I only use Content Library. But that's just a choice of preference.
Can anyone advise where the clothes (blue striped shirt and red beret and scarfe) come from in the picture of the Frencheman playing the accordian? Thanks Simon
Hi!
You can find the info for the clothes here: [Released] An Accordion with Playing Poses for G9, 8, 8.1, and 3 [Commercial] - Daz 3D Forums
