Hello ! Is there a not too complicated way to alter an outfit ? Here is my problem : I love this outfit but the back skirt is a bit too long for what I had in mind : https://www.daz3d.com/tara-outfit-for-genesis-8-females . I can't just hide the surface as it is the same surface than a part of the chest clothing. Is there a way to "crop" the skirt ?

Assuming there are vertices in the right place for that, you could use the geometry editor to create a surface for tre part you want to hide.

Another option would be to create an opacity map (from scratch if there's none right now, or modify the one currently used) to make that part of the surface transparent.

  • I do need to check if thare are vertices, that would be a solution !

    Thanks for your help :)

if you go by the opacity map keep in mind that this will still be moved as if it's all there, so yes, geometry editor would be the tool I'd try first

If the geometry editor doesn't work out, Fit Control Add-On has a Length Lower Shorten morph for skirts, as well as, a few Rear morphs that may be able to help.

  • Thanks, that looks like a useful product !

I'd go with an opacity map in the Cutout Opacity channel of the Main_Cloth surface of the Tara Dress. The Geometry Editor would leave an irregular edge, because of the topology of the dress. I attached the opacity map I used in this example render. Feel free to modify it to meet your needs.
