checkboard marks on render

I have an interesting problem, never encountered before. In my preview everything looks amazing, but when I render the image out, the skin has these odd check board marks. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Try increasing the Texture Compression thresholds (Medium and High) in Render Settings - Advanced. Studio's defaults are 512 and 1024, which is quite low for high-res bitmaps. Try multiples of 1024 for each (1024 / 2048, 2048 / 4196) to see if the artifacts go away.
Are you sure it isn't just semi-transparent? If you save the render as PNG and open in an image editor, does a solid colour background show through?
That was it! I have no clue how that happened, but rendering the image with a black background fixes her skin. Really strange, but luckily, I now have a working fix for it. :D
I can't recall the details but there is a combination of surface and render (or possibly lighting) settings that will do that.
