Making Shuttlestar Computer Screen Glow?

DekeDeke Posts: 1,635

I'm using the Shuttlestar model and would like hte interior screens to glow a bit. When I apply an Iray Emmissive to the surface, the screens turn a solid mustard color. They neither glow nor retain the graphics. Is there a way to keep the graphics and make them glow?

Put the diffuse texture in the emissive color slot.

Thanks. That did the trick. Haven't used the Bloom setting before and they're fun to play with.

And don't forget, with the Vanguard and a number of similar products in the Surfaces tab you will find an entry for "lights".  These are the white panels in the ceilings and walls.  After you select them in the surfaces tab you can go to your products library and find your IRay shader for emissive objects and apply it.  It will give you properties for light color and intensity.  I find 5600K and 50,000 lumens to be a good starting point.  The scenes look so much better with the modeled lights glowing.  They normally put out enough light so that you do renders with little or no supplemental lights - and since the light is coming form the "right", place for the scene is looks more realistic too.
