dforce hair does not respond properly to gravity

With the advent of dforce I thought that simulating objects on the floor or falling naturally with gravity would be easier and more realistic, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I tried simulating Soft Classic Wavy Hair but the head portion refuses to drop to the floor. I did an animated simulation version, that's how I usually do it to simulate objects on the floor but it still doesn't work on the head, but also on the tips of the hair, as you can see in the attachments parts of the tips of the hair stand up. Am I missing something out?

There may be a weight map or material settings reducing or zeroing the dynamic strength in those areas. You could adjust material settings as usual through the Surfaces pane, or if it's a weight map add the dForce Weight node to the hauir and then use that to access the strength map for editing.
