My Gobbo da Goblin HD Character is not showing properly

As you can see in the image below, this character has like shadows around his body. I dont have any strange light in the scene, in fact if i upload other genesis characters or some creatures, this dont happens into then. It is just in this character and when I try to upload him in a scene already done. If i upload him in a new scene that has nothing except the character, this one appears with no shadows.

What is happening?

Does it also look like that when you actually render the character? Or just in the preview?

It looks like it's using the wrong UV settings; select the character, then in the Surfaces tab select "Surfaces" and set the UV set to "Base Male" and see if that helps.

Thank you Walt. I already had UV Set to "base male" so it cant be this. No working but i really thank your help.

Well i will begin the scene adding the character first, so i didnt have the problem.

It's not the UV set...it's not tiling...both of those are showing in that last screenshot.

But it is definitely something with the loading of the image files.

Go up to the Default Templates, select Template 1 (that will be the face)...do a series of screenshots of the surface settings.  The diffuse color in particular...

At least this is giving me an excuse to finally install him...laugh

  • If i upload the character into a new Scene, with nothing into the scene, the character appears fine (image attached below). The problem is that i am doing a Scene with "Rock in the forest" template, and in this one if i upload the goblin it appears as in the first post. The strange is that when i did this scene by first time if uploading the character first (before the map "Rock in the forest") things well ok and the goblin was fine.

I can start from the beginning and problem solved but im angry with this program, Daz Studio, because i see things too difficult when no necessary, like this kind of things.

    Greetings.

It's possible thats this is a memory problem what are you computer specs?

  • Hi Scorpio,

Thanks to answer me and sorry for my late answer. Yeah, it is possible because my computer specs are a bit poor. I have 8 GB RAM and a Intel Core i-7-2600 CPU @ 3,40GH 3,40GH processer. The graphic card has 2 GB RAM NVIDIA GEFORCE.

I suppose it will be that.

    Greetings!

You should be OK with that set up 8GB (if possible upgrade to more) of Ram is the minimum really but its enough you just have to be careful, save and reboot DS at intervals, use scene subsets so you can work on 1 piece of the scene at a time then merge them into 1.

I've only recently managed to upgrade to 16GB I had 8 before, but I could get a couple of figures clothing and some small scenery in a scene before things started to troublsome, I had to render in layers if I wanted big scenes.

    Good Morning!

I have both Gobbo and the Rock in Forest on my system can you give me a step by step of what you are loading into the scene and when along with anything that is pre-exisitng in the scene like lights/cams etc. I'll see if I can reproduce the issue you're getting.

  • Hi Elliandra,

thank you for trying to help me, the things i uploaded into the scene are in the image attached, and they are:

    1 - Scene-Rock in forest

2 - Light-HQ //lights from the set Rock in the forest

3 - Cameras //cameras from the set Rock in the forest

    4 - Troglodite_LR

5 - Skydome //from the set Dystopia City

    6 - Genesis 2 Male (The Gobling)

The strange is that when i make this in other order, the goblin appears fine. If i upload the goblin first, it is all ok. So i have to upload the goblin and then the scene and the other things (cameras, lights, skydome...). Dont waste many time on this, because what i did was buying other character, the Troglodyte bundle, although i still think what something is wrong with my computer or with this Goblin set.

    Greetings!

Ok I tried loading everything you have in the same order but it all loaded fine for me. If you could open up DIM and uninstall Gobbo then re-install him please it looks like you may have some corrupted files for the set. It doesn't happen often but when it does ooo it's not so pretty lol

Please let me know if this fixes the issue!
