Genesis 3 and wings

I am attempting to put a set of wings, Fairy Wings for Giselle 6, onto Genesis 3 Female.  The picture on the left is right after fitting the wings and the picture on the right is how they look after applying a pose for G3F.  This happens with all my fairy wing set for Gen and G2 on G3.  Why are the wings deforming like this and how do I stop it or would I be better off waiting for fairy wings for G3F to hit the store?

Instead of Fit To (which I assume is triggering autofit) try parenting the wings to the chest.

Nope.  Parenting to Chest, or in this case Upper Chest, triggers auto-fit and applying a pose deforms the wings.  Some how I have a feeling that I'll have to wait for wings designed specifically for G3 unless there are other suggestions.  In fact going into parameters and moving the upper chest deforms deforms the wings just like adding a pose.

    Odd, parenting should't trigger autofit.

I ran into this issue with some other stuff i was working with. G3 has a different rig than previous gens. A fairly complicated workaround i did was Load a G3 character..than load a G2 or other Gen character Fit the wings to the character pose how you want...then unparent the wings in the posed position and delete the G2 character then just move the wings to the G3 toon...dont parent them at all just place them in the scene like you would a prop. This is complicated because you have to know exactly what your pose is going to be and set up properly before you render.

    Thems the brakes i guess.

Create a Null, parent wings to null, parent null to chest.

This works for a lot of items, including weapons. Because many objects don't have the pivot point where you connect them with the model. The pivot is at the feet usually. By using the null object, you can rotate and fine tune positioning better than without it. I reccomend this technique for all sorts of props including wings and weapons.

Even if autofit triggers, just cancel it.

Autofit is not a set in stone, must do thing....it's optional.  Do as larsmidnatt suggests and cancel it.  It can be canceled on anything.
