"My content" is a huge mess
for a few months, i bougth many bundles when were cheap , plus some megapacks etc...
So now, my content is a labyrinth where i can't manage to find anything: my hairs are in a gazillion different files, each time i select a caracter it has 20+ morphs availaible, poses are scatered in over 40 files, and don't get me started on clothes.
I spend more time checking files than actualy working my renders.
What did i did wrong ?
How can fix that?
is there a way to reorganize all that ?
Thank you

I guess you are using Content Library. Using Smart Content Library sounds like a solution : )
How did you install your content, using DAZ Install Manager (DIM)?
What content is it, Genesis or the earlier V4 stuff. Items for Genesis should be easy enough to find if you installed using DIM.
I install most (95%) of my content with DIM
It is mainly Gen2 content but i also got Gen1 and 3 things
And about smart library, i may not have it configured properly because it only give me very limited options
If you installed using DIM, then the content should be in the right place. If I look in People > Genesis 2 Female, there are sub-folders for Hair, Clothing, Characters, Materials etc, are you not seeing that? I don't see why there should be G2F items installed anywhere else, can you give me an example?
Should you choose to use the Content Library (non-smart) at some point: When I install products, I usually do either one or a very small batch of them at a time, so it's obvious what content thumbnails belong to what product. I then categorize them all completely in a way that makes sense to me so that there's nothing left uncategorized, and mark all content as seen to remove all highlighting. I find this makes it far easier to make sense of the next product or batch of products I install, as opposed to trying to do a larger pile at once where as you say it's a confusing pile of mixed-up content. This suggestion won't help you today, but once you get what you already own sorted, it may help from that point on.
For example, in my Gen2 female hair folder, i have more than 39 subfolder (some of them have subfolders) but i also have some under victoria4 folder, some in a hair folder wich is not under any character etc..
Is there a way to reorganize that i n simpler way: ie having a folder where all my female hair are ?
If you use dim, it wants everything where they tell you. Even if you don't agree.
Thats why I don't use Dim. I have relatively organized folders :) You can move stuff around pretty easy, but not sure how DIM reacts to that as I don't use it. Might cause issues when it wants to update things later. Maybe.
ok i think i may be on something i ll try to reorganise my folders, hope i wont trash too many things
If you aren't sure what can be moved, I suggest using Categories instead. I have a Hair category with subfolders for braids, ponytails, long, curly, etc.
If you do want to move the actual folders, note that items in DS formats need to stay out of Runtime (athough there are tricks) and items in Poser formats need to stay inside Runtime\Libraries, but you can move the conforming hair out of Figures and into Hair if you like. I like to keep the materials in a subfolder of the objects.
