Long response times to commands

Does saving a scene in compressed mode cause any issues with a file's or the program's abiilty to respond?

For example I have a scene saved and when I saved it I saved it compressed.  Would this have any effect on the file besides its size?

    Compression adds a slight overhead, but on the other hand there is less data to read from disc. There should be no effect other than load/save times.

    Thanks, that is what I thought but as  of my last update of DAZ it looks like that setting changed and it now prompts to save as compressed now.
