Today's sale is a yawner; buy a new item to get old stuff at a mediocre discount...

And no mention of the buy-in requirements until you make it down to the carousel & shopping page links. Maybe someone forgot - again - that if the background & text are similar/identical colors, the text is invisible?

But I have to wait until payday, so will indulge in the Rawart sale instead.

Don't know what it was/is with the Raw Sale. 50% on old catalog items is not that much once coming out of the holiday sales with older items being at 67% (with full punches). Won't complain: Got the Nosteratu Bundle for 67% or so and the Rhinocolous for > 80% as it was deeper discounted and even the punch discount applied. Would have probably gotten more if the 50% would have combined with the punch discount.

Guess I cease spending for the moment. Going back to 30% intro discount reminded me on the higher (at least to me) base prices once more. Have definively bought enough in December to keep me occupied for a while.

Only thing I'm wondering: Shouldn't the Growing Up for Gen 9 from Zev0 be be out of the 2-month-phase already to get higher discounted? Or is this phase now longer?

i know where you are coming from... often it is the case (but sadly not always) that products become eligible for the bigger discounts once they are no longer labeled new and the PA is featured in a sale.

i'm not aware of any Gen 9 products appearing in a featured artist sale yet even though some are now eligible.

it's just a matter of time though.

That's what I meant. No rule or obligation or whatsoever but a long going practice I've got used to:

    - Product is released with intro discount
    - Maybe product gets even higher starting discount for certain combinations with banners/other purchases/coupons (usually 2-5 days or shorter)
    - Product falls back to intro discount (approx 1-2 more weeks)
    - Product falls out of intro discount (full price and while still labeleld new)
    - Optional: Product gets on some "what you've missed"-sales (approx 1 month after release, slightly higher discounts than at release)
    - Product is no longer new, looses "new" badge, is part of flash sales*, catalog sales** and other older product promotions (2 months after release)

*Depending on whether the PA wants the product already go on those sales or not. If I remember right nearly everything was always going cheap quickly in the past. Nowadays we have more and more exceptions and products sometimes excluded from higher discounted catalog sales.

So I was just wondering whether the Growing Up 9 would be already out of the two months grace period or not. But even if it is, Zev0 seems to have decided to leave more recent products out of the BYOFG sale.

So, I'm still seeing a holiday punch card notice in my cart, but it's not applied to anything today. I'm thinking this is a holiday holdout, but not completely sure. Anyone else still seeing the banner?

    I'm seeing it too.

...PC+ (Daz +) used to be 99¢, then 1.99$ then 2.99$ and now we're seeing prices of 5.99$, 6.99$ and up.  Prices have indeed gone up, making the value of a membership worth less.

PC items were $1.99 at launch. There were odd speicals which would knock them down to $0.99 I think, but probably only select items in the Anniversay month.

The buy-in (even though annoying) is something I pretty much expect from the sales. It's a surprise when there isn't one.

What's more annoying to me is the choice of buy-ins. If you're not interested in Mister Bobble, you have only four items to choose from. To me, only one of them is worth considering, and not at the release price.

I guess I'm sitting this one out unless we get some more exciting new releases tomorrow.

Yesterday was the last day to use the punch card discount. Where do you see the banner and can you post a screenshot so we can report it to have them fix that, please? I can't find one unless I'm missing it.

It's on the cart page,  above the order summary part.

Anyway, todays buy in is definitely a bit of an anti-incentive unless you want a really niche product that can't be used with other things

    Ever heard of inflation?

Inflation is no reason for making the monthly DAZ+ coupons nearly useless, by excluding them from 90% of the sales due having to use "promo codes" to get the sale's benefits. In December I managed to use the "$ 6.- from DO items" around the 20th, as nothing worth using it on and being possible to use it on showed up in the shop.

I don't even look at sales where you have to buy a new release or something else, just to get a discount.  If in the extremely rare case where I want a new release, I might look at the discounted categories.  My mind just can't jump through those tiny hoops any more.

Although the sale states all items, some Rawart items still are not receiving the anniversary sale discount: For example:

    https://www.daz3d.com/werwulf-for-genesis-9

If you choose one of the items in the holiday sales it will apply to the Interactive Licenses... For whatever reason

That's a big gripe of mine as well, along with sales on DAZ Originals that do not stack with the DAZ+ discount...

Today is a good day after having used way too much time and money last week, browsing the lists to find the gems to buy.

There really should be filters for "Show only products that have native DS files" and "Show only products with Iray materials"

The sales I consider "hohum" such as this one gives me a reason not to spend. Throw in Mr Bobble and I have another reason not to spend. Mr Bobble is the stuff of nightmares (((((shudder!!)))).

The membership price has not increased in the 14+ years I've been a member.

True, but if you take into account the number of years it has been that same price, and how the prices for DAZ+ items for members have gone up, there is quite the discrepancy.  I started in the PC+ club in 2008, I think.  Adjust for inflation!  You'll find that the value has indeed decreased steadily, quite a bit

Yeah... I had to wait until I got back to work as I couldn't think of downloading all the stuff over my mobile connection... Only to find that, today there were problems with download speeds even there...

    Yes.
During the first 3 months of my +membership I was wondering what are people complaining about with those coupons, there's plenty to choose from. But the restrictions on those coupons creeped in very fast, and I'm very far from being a big spender(meaning my library is still rather modest). Excluding + items from a coupon thats already limited to only DO, is just ridiculous. Outside of sales and flash sales, there's barely anything if anything to use it on, unless one is willing to pay extra, but that's what the 2nd coupon is for.

I am half convinced that they keep them on purpose as a disincentive to use them. There is no other explaination that I can come up with for keeping system that is so awful and could be easily replaced by giving everybody a $12 store credit that resets monthly.

I got my membership in November and it took me few hours of googling to understand how to actualy use the PA coupon as it was rejected every time i tried (And funnily when it ACTALY works it displays an error in my browser). a complete disgrace.

  • In this thread and in the thread for the RawArt sale, we've been told this has been reported. Twiggant is still new but the others I would expect to be included.

I don't know is it  disincentive to use the cuopon or an incetive to spend more $. Because you see if you don't use the cuopon, it's going to "waste" so throwing an extra couple of $ just to use it, seems like the obvious course of actioncool There's a lot of psychological tricks like that going on.(ekhm the punchcard)

I don't see the numbers but judging by, reading others posts I would guess most of the income from members comes from sales encouraged by flat extra 30% discount, if I'm right, replacing coupons with store credit wouldn't hurt the bottom line at all.
However everything including the cuopons is designed to encourage more spending. That's probably why the + category items are included in the 2nd cuopon not the first one.

From a user's perspective I'm okay with the coupons, removing some restrictions would made them much better - all DO in the first coupon and PA items in the 2nd, even with the 18$ cart value, that's still fine.

Huh, I usually spend my coupons rather quickly, even after a couple years in the club now. Most of the time, I use the DO coupon on a new release because this one works on them, and then the PA coupon to bring down the price a bit more on something that's currently in a 'normal' sale, meaning none which requires a code. That gives me two nice extra discounts each month. It works specially well with the DO one if a bigger sale event is going on like the holiday sale just now, bringing the DO release price from the usual 30% off to 58% or thereabouts usually.

Right, it works nice IF you are willing to throw in extra buck  or/and there is a sale.

Don't. When notifications work they next go out after you visit a bookmarked thead, and then not until you visit again - posting has nothing to do with notifications, which seem pretty generally broken.
