How do you delete part of an object/prop?

I have imported a building into Daz, and I would like to delete just the door. Whenever I select the door and go Edit/Delete/Selected Object(s), Daz deletes the entire building along with the door.

How do I select and delete the door alone? Thanks,

Well, I don't know exactly what model you're using, but on many models, you can select the item and "hide" it.
First expand the building's tree and you will probably find something in that tree saying "wall"
Expand the Wall's tree and there should be the door listed there somewhere.
Click on the little eye icon. This should turn off the door and leave the wall and the rest of the building.

Then again, if it is a solid prop, you can get rid of the door in a programme like Carrara7 or 8Pro.

Select the object with the surface selector tool and turn the opacity of the part down to zero. It's still there, but it's now invisible.
