Hello Hello! Boat load of Questions from the Noobie

Hey there! Brand new to Daz and 3D modeling, so bare with the noobish questions guys because this unmarked teritory for me. First question I have is how do you make custom model with only one arm? I've noticed in the pay content that all of the designs do not even incoperate a "amysterical" option? One of my characters I wanted to build needs that detail to be fully made. The second question is the Genisis option payied content? And does that allow users to make their own models? I do like all of the pay content, but if I can make most of the base stuff on my own, more power to me I suppose?

Third and biggest question, if I make a Daz 3D character, and want to animate it on Source Flimmaker, can it be done? When I looked at a older post I noticed no one had ((at the time)) attempted to animatie with SFM too DAZ.

I hope to learn alot from here and to learn from best. :D

I have never seen a model with an 'Asymetrical'  option.   If you need to remove an arm, and close the area left by the removal, you would most likely need to use a modelling program like Hexagon or Blender or similar.

The second question is the Genisis option payied content? And does that allow users to make their own models? I do like all of the pay content, but if I can make most of the base stuff on my own, more power to me I suppose?

The base genesis figures, Genesis, Genesis 2 Female, Genesis 2 Male and Genesis 3 Female are all free, and can be downloaded from your Product Library.   There are some free clothing and hair items for most of these models as well from time to time, and you could also look on ShareCG too.

Third and biggest question, if I make a Daz 3D character, and want to animate it on Source Flimmaker, can it be done? When I looked at a older post I noticed no one had ((at the time)) attempted to animatie with SFM too DAZ.

I don't know anything about Source Filmmaker, what format can it import.   DAZ Studio can export FBX, DAE and OBJ.

I found something of a workaround while I was playing with a character I'm designing. My character's an amputee missing his arm below the elbow. To get the look I wanted, I highlighted the forearm and went to the "scale" option under the posing tab. I scaled the forearm to zero and got almost exactly the effect I wanted. If you're looking for the whole arm, scaling to zero doesn't work so well. It leaves a seriously deformed shoulder (try it to see for yourself) but if your character is going to be wearing clothes, this should be no obstacle. But y'know, you got me thinking. Asymmetrical models would be a good idea for someone working on a fantasy or sci-fi setting, or if someone wants to model or animate a character with a prosthetic.

Products, such as http://www.daz3d.com/m-a-g-2-robotic-arm, are how people do assymetry.  They use geografts to replace a limb, say, with a robotic arm or something else.
