OK, well, there's something I could do: Parmeters and Zero the arms. How about duo poses not matching up, as in romantic or wrestling poses? For the second screen shot, it would not be apparant that the poses are so far off if each were presented as a single pose. But, as this is a wrestling hold, the lighter guy should be grabbing the other guy's arms.

So are they hiarchal poses?if yes then make sure that one of the 2 figures is parented to the other. if not there will always be adjustments needed unless you are using the exact same figures that the poses were created with. Just part of the whole posing thing .......

@carrie58: I agree, but it seems to me that when I used Bone Minion to go from G3 romantic poses, and applied them to G8s, they applied pretty closely. When going from G8 to G9s, there seems to be more separation or errors. Maybe it's that there are so many more movable parts to a G9. But I was hoping that RiverSortArt could find a way to make the poses transfer more accurately. Or, maybe it's not possible. I'm just hoping that it is possible.

Are you making sure to use the Zero limits on the G9 figures? Yeah going from G3 to G8 isn't that much of a difference, cause most of the changes were in the head , but G3/G8 to G9 is a much bigger difference ...... I found that it's a major help to just having smaller adjustments, and being able to use the poses I already have .......

@carrie58: Welll, Bone Minion recommends turning off limits. But I do zero the figure poses, placing each back in a zero pose position before applying another pose. If the figure gets into that distorted arm pose, I delete it and call up another G9.

Yup and I recommend using the provided "Limits Off" script , I had some really funky things happen when I didn't  ,so far I've just popped through the poses with Bone Minion , I don't bother zeroing the poses inbetween unless one gets funky ,then I just zero pose ,if the arms act up I go to the parameter tab to fix that .

Also, when working with G9s, I often use wrestling poses. Sometimes, with the Bone Minion used to apply poses, the two characters do not meet. Sometimes, one is transitioned higher than he should be. The Y transition has to be adjusted. At other times, one character is in the air, off the floor, and his legs are placed at odd angles. The other character seem OK in this second case.

I have a screen shot, but this is actually one of the better pose results. Still, you can see that the arms are not positioned correctly. If it can't be any futher corrected with your product, it still saves time. So, I'm not trying to state a big complaint. Yet, it seems to me that this doesn't happen with transferring poses, using Bone Minion, from say G3 to G8. So, I just thought I'd make you aware of this.

I should also note that I'm on a Macintosh, using OS 12.6.1, and DAZ Studio 4.21.0.5. Please see the screen shot.

The y translation might need to be adjusted.  This is something I struggled with for months and finally just lived with it.  The height of the hip is different between the two generations so a pose that actually modifies the hip Y value will often be wrong (usually for kneeling poses, lying poses, etc but it could happen with any pose).  I tried adjusting for the difference but that did not work either.  A lying pose might NOT need a Y adjustment while a walking pose might.

For the zeroing pose problem, I don't know if it ONLY G9 or not.  I always used the CTRL-SHIFT-F and it never showed up.  Since you reported it, I used the actual Zero Figure Pose and it can show up there.  Bone Minion transfers values to all non-locked transformations on bones, whether they are hidden or not. There are some transformations in G9 that are hidden but not-locked and Zero Pose does not seem to catch it.

So, does it make a difference if the Zero Pose ends up with the arms bent? If a pose is then assigned to the G9, will it be as it should be? Or, is it necessary to straighten the arms out?

It won't make a difference IF the pose assigns values to the arm bones.  If it does not, the arms will stay akimbo.

Actually, with this product I can get better poses by using, for example, a G8 pose on a G9. I think that's because of all the additional bending possible with a G9: spine 1 to spine 4, uppper arm twists 1 and 2, thigh twists 1 and 2. The pose can seem more natural. So, this is a very fine product.

Thank you!  Yeah, Daz did a good job with the twists.  They were a pain for pose converters but they help make the figure give more natural poses.

...oops almost made an error as I thought that the G8 bundle was to G8 from all the listed Generations not the other way around.  So to transfer from all four older generations to G8, I would need to purchase a separate one for each, correct?

This is a great product!! I have used numerous pose change products in the meantime. I have tried at least all products and scripts, both free and paid. All products in the past were converted similarly, but they could not be used without fine-tuning. This is because it takes too much time to re-modify the converted pose, so finding a similar pose product released for the current character can save time. In fact, it is true that I had many doubts about how well this product would convert, but this product shattered my doubts. Finally, you don't have to fix your hand pose!! And the pose of the two characters combined is almost perfectly transformed!! Some poses can be reproduced with only minor adjustments without destroying the original pose. With this product, I have been able to render scenes with a new generation of characters using poses I have collected as a hobby for almost decades (I have collected many poses since victoria in zygote and poser3 in metacreation). This is truly an innovation.
If there's anything I want from the creator, I've been waiting for a tool that can somehow reuse characters before victoria4 (I'm victoria3, vicky, and literally Paleolithic poses without deleting them. In the past, I tried using tools like philc's puppet master, but the results is not good.) Can you also make the conversion possible? Other users may have the same thoughts as me, but if there is an auto script that converts and saves the entire folder at once, it will be a great product that can not find the slightest flaw. I would be happy to purchase an add-on product if such functionality was added.

Thanks for the kind words!  I am glad you like it.

Unfortunately, I came to the Daz Studio game too late.  I do not even have a single pre-V4 character or pose.  As far as converting the entire folder at once, that goes against the philosophy of the Universal Pose Converter.  I wanted to stop people from littering their entire HD with conversions of poses and just use the poses directly.

In order to create a converter that supports pre-V4 characters (Victoria3, Michel3, Freak3), do you need only a basic character and a few poses that can be referenced for production?

Even before V4 became popular, there were many poses that came out with V3.
(Especially, I still own pose DVDs for the V3 and M3 sold by German producer Schlabber, who was a famous pose maker.)

I paid him and order 15 years ago living in Germany and received a DVD of his poses by mail internationally.
Even then I was living in Korea (I live now).웃는

This is because the more poses, the better, regardless of generation.
No matter how great the current generation is, if there are not enough poses to support it, a person who lacks creativity like me can't overcome it.
So, if there is a converter for the pose of the older generation, I would like to render it using it.

V2, V1, and Poser's Possett, which predate V3, are too old characters.
I can't ask you to make converters up to that.우유 부단
(Because I doubt if anyone actually uses it now.)

Does this site only have V3/M3 poses?  I can see if I can find a free V3/M3 character somewhere to try it out.
