Animated Textures(?)

I recently saw this product in the DAZ store:

I see that it only works in DAZ 3.x version and can't seem to find a product like this for later versios of DS. Does that mean animated textures are a feature that are no longer supported by recent DAZ Studio versions? Animating textures seems like a cool idea.  Are there alternative plugins/methods to animate textures in the same way and if so, what are they?
