    One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
    Don't do anything at all
    . . .

    When logic and proportion
    Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
    Remember what the Dormouse said
    Feed your head

Song: "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane.
Postwork:  Just a little to minimize some grain and fireflies. And, of course, to add my signature.
Newbie Work: This was about working with iray and trying to learn the ropes of a new render engine... and all that entails.

Congrats to Joe Webb -- I really love the details in the background of your scene -- very fun stuff). It almost seems like your guys could live down the hall from the guys in my image!

Linwelly: I really like your scene. I love how understated it is. Just a slice of life with details (and enough dirt) to make it seem real. Well done, sir!

Thanks a lot and congrats to Joe Webb and mmitchel_houston, great works, but a lot of great renders done by everyone.

I guess, as I have won first place once and been placed twice now, I will stop entering the contest but I will continue to learn in the WIP section, as I believe this should be a motivation to many starting out. I still have a lot to learn and probably will for years. This has been a huge push in motivation for me when things were all confusing and way to much to understand at once, so thanks for all the support and help!

Your folks are great, keep it up!

Congratulations to the winners! Many great renders and it was both fun and educational to see how some of them progressed. As I said in the WIP thread, I still feel like a winner for all the things I learned. :)

  • Congratulations everyone. Kinda' figured Joe's was going to be in the top somewhere - definitely my favorite render of the contest. (Excluding my own, of course... wink)

  • Congratulations to the winners, you've got a hell of creativity !

I've decided to add one more prize (something I don't do very often) but I wanted to give a small prize and nod to noseeum who I felt did a really wonderful job creatively on what is a very difficult song to work with. So you have also received a $5.00 Gift Certificate to use on the site for your creative uses of the elements in your scene :) (I especially found myself looking at the face under the bed...really interesting element! :)

Thats very kind of you DAZ_ann0314, Congratulations noseeum :)

  • Thank you so much, this is an honor. And thank you everyone all for the very kind words.

When I saw your entry mmitchell_houston I was really struck by it, with the detail and the brightness, there is so much to see and it really invokes the song. Linwelly, your entry just sticks with me, the mood is very strong. And as said before all the entries are great, and there is so much to learn here from everyone.
