Is there anyway to have an item NOT render a shadow in Iray?

My character has flower tattoos around her neck and as I can't find any tattoos like that for sale anywhere, I'm attempting to fake it with a choker. But I can't find a way to get rid of the shadows underneath it. Any ideas?

AFAIK it's not possible with Iray,

iray Decals are another possibilty, you just need png images with alpha or and an opacity map

(I might be thinking of layered image editor for the alpha png images)

I've tried the decal route with a G8M character and I haven't found it very successful.
