Exporting Strandbase obj in scene files -- SolVed :-)

Hi Richard Haseltine,

You mentioned in a thread somewhere that we could export as/in scene files the Strandbased hair as objects. We all loved that idea but as I try to, this isn't working.

Please elaborate on how to. Thank you.

Or if anybody else has figured it out ...

History, the Strandbased hair is based on the Garibaldi hair system. The old Garibaldi plugins permitted the export of .obj files. This feature is missing from the Strandbased hairs.

This is the save type we or I would like for the Strandbased.png

I'll give that a try, thanks.

I export as OBJ without touching the tesselation (I think) so that I can import the hair splines into C4D. The female's hair in this video is built off of a modified version of dForce Fierce Tales hair.

well TBH I haven't tried the new export only selected option yet as was until recently mostly using D|S4.11

I check the don't export hidden/only visible option and only have the hair visible but they are very highpoly

    On the Parameters Tab,
    Preview PR Hairs > On
Render Line Tessellation Sides > 3  [all ready at this setting]
    Hide node figure
    Select and export hair
    AND IT WORKS

    Thank you very much :-)
