Rendering Problem.

When I try to render an image, I get a checkerboard that turns black after about 1 minute. 10 minutes later, the view is still black...no image. I have a Dell xps 8700, I7 with 24gb ram and a nvidea 4gb graphics card. What's going wrong here?

    A lot more information needed.

    Is this Iray or 3Delight?   What lighting do you have in your scene?   What is in your scene?   What version of DS, and what oprating system?

    Using Iray?

    You don't have enough light in your scene for the camera settings. Lower the f/stop, raise the ISO or drop the shutter speed. Or balance all three until you see an image.

    I had only the ambient light. It is an underwater scene. Windows 8.1 OS, with Saz 4.8 and it is an Iray render.

    I'll add some light and try again when I get home. I didn't realize that you had to add light to get any kind of render at all.
