Re-installed Daz, Issues with custom library location

Hi all

I recenently re-installed windows as I was having issues with my machine.

Since then I have re-installed Daz Studio and attempted to point this to my custom directory for all things Daz3D (my entire library of content + morphs is all stored on an external drive).

In doing so, there seems to have been created a super super mess! Almost all (but not all!) morphs either no longer show up, or if they do, they don't actually effect the mesh.

I've been searching around the forums and around the web to find some clear guide on how to point daz to a custom location and have it load all of that content + morphs to be used on GEn 8/Gen8.1 figures.

Everything I have tried has caused even more of a mess (at one point, all the morphs worked but only on the left side of the mesh lolll). I'm now at a point when I have uninstalled Daz completely from my machine in an attempt to try this all again from scratch.

Does anyone have a guide, or step by step instructions in order to get Daz to work with the Programme being installed on my C drive, and everything else being on an external drive ?

I've spent a couple of days on this now and i'm literally at the point of just deleting everything and never using Daz again lol. It can't be this complicated / messy to get Daz to work again after installing on a fresh computer.

Please help :) also let me know if you need further information.

Thank you!

  • Where is the content installed? Is it clean, or do you have nested content diectories (the content directory is the one that holds the Data and Runtime folders - is there one inside another one)?
