I have exact same problem - have you found a solution in the meantime?
thank you
I my case I was lucky that these asset I bought also had .obj files:
- the DAZToUnreal seems to be buggy - I can not recommend
- using FBX in general does not work very well
Solution:
- I imported .all obj files into Blender with size 1 instead of 100 to get correct size
- made a Python skript in Blender to fix all transparent materials
- I exported to USD
- I installed USD import plugin in Unreal Engine
- import was easy
- put all meshes at once into scene
- set position to 0,0,0
- set rotation to 90,0,0 - might be an import or export bug. I am using latest Unreal Engine (5.3.2) and latest Blender version (4.x)
- set scale to 0.01 0.01 and 0.01 - might be an import or export bug. I am using latest Unreal Engine (5.3.2) and latest Blender version (4.x)
- added collision boxes to all imprtant meshes - seems to be an import issue but fix was easy
=> for small assets that bridge works but for more complex ones like several houses (I had a Paris scene) it does not work at all. Would be nice if somebody from DAZ fixes that issue. So you need asset in obj as well and can use Blender to convert to USD (FBX and glb does not work).
The easiest workaround I've found for this is to create a new primitive in Daz (a cube, for instance) and parent everything to that. Rename the cube something other than "cube", something relevant is probably best, and then export that to Unreal. Once you're in Unreal, you can delete the cube, and everything else should show up normally, with the exception of any instanced meshes.
A user on the Daz to Unreal Discord found a solution for this:
