Horrid distortion on base female 8 or 8.1 with basic body posing

Daz3D 14.20.0.17 just installed.
new scene.
add basic female character.
looks fine.
add a default pose included with install and hips look terribly distorted. no other changes.
same happens with 8.1 basic female
not sure what happened.

Please put the Viewport into a non-textured Drawstyle if you are going to show a nude figure.
This means that a character or morph product you have installed, probably one for a larger-bodied shape, is not correctly configured and is triggering one or more corrective morphs or joint centre adjustments when the shape they belong to is not applied. Check that you are not missing any product updates.
