    convert to LIE (layered image Editor ) and save the temporary files found in my documents DAZ 3D

    That won't cover all use-cases, for example if there is an offset or if the shell is using a different UV set.

    then one may need to use the map transfer in surfaces to create matching textures 

    an image editing app is also useful and masking pixel offset and other functions in the Unreal material node
