The G8M arms are messed up when I pose them and I haven't done anything to the model

I put the G8F next to it for comparison, I dont know if I might've accidentally messed it up somewhere whilst I was wqorking with G8F but when I tried to use G8M the other day I discovered that his arms aren't working correctly. I sthis a common issue? Is there a way to fix it? Or am I doomed to re-install DAZ and reset everything from scratch?

I assume you have a JCM that activates uncorrectly.

If it have worked previously and you have installed new G8F characters, you can try to uninstall these.

Else try in the parameters to enable 'show hidden' and then with the character selected click currently used. In the list you get up you should be able to find the JCM that shouldn't be there.
