Is it okay to modify existing textures in Photoshop?

Is it okay to modify existing textures in Photoshop?  I want a green dragon with green spines, but the spines I found are for a red dragon.

I am planing on keeping the modified textures for myself, but share the renders.  Maybe share the renders commercially.

Also does anyone know how to turn red into green in Photoshop CS6?  I know I can try but I want some tips.

I don't have photoshop, but you should be able to change the hue.

You can do anything you want with the textures, if it's just for personal use.

In Photoshop: Image > Adjustments > Replace color

    PS change color1.jpg
    593 x 550 - 249K
    PS change color2.jpg
    728 x 594 - 356K
    PS change color3.jpg
    1105 x 665 - 502K
