(SOLVED) Noticeable slow down on DAZ 4.16 IRAY render times
EDIT: The newest drivers 516.40 and 516.59 cause this slowdown.
I primarily use DAZ 4.16 because of the many issues that 4.20 has. Just a few days ago I noticed that the render times for Iray on 4.16 have slowed down noticeably and when rendering the same scenes with 4.20, the render times are the 'correct' ones, i.e. what the 4.16's used to be before this issue came up. This problem started to happen a few days ago after I updated my NVIDIA driver to the latest one - version 516.59, so I'm not sure if this could be caused by this update?
I have two GPUs, RTX 3090 and RTX 2080 Ti, and I disable CPU fallback. Ryzen Threadripper 3960x, 64GB RAM. So I doubt it has anything to do with a weak PC. But if there's any way to diagnose this, be it a DAZ software issue or faulty hardware, I'd really appreciate the advice.

Did you have problems with the older driver?
There is no quarantee that newer drivers are better than older ones.
In this case there has been a number of messages about the newest drivers causing problems with older versions of DS

Thanks, these drivers seem to work better for 4.20. I've rolled back and indeed it was caused by the drivers. Thanks for your info!
Just FYI, I know this is an old thread, but I've been using 4.16 with the 512.96 driver, and someone told me they new 527.96 driver works with 4.16.
I tried it, and did some test renders on my RTX 3090ti with both drivers and I got the same speeds with 527.96 as I did with 512.96 using three seperate scenes. A small one, a medium one and a large one in terms of render times. I guess I'm just writing this in case anyone wants to try it because of the benefits you may get outside of Daz. You can always rollback, as I said I did that to test and it worked just fine.
