ERC freeze and bone rotation ?

cgidesigncgidesign Posts: 442

I am right now through a DAZ tut (which in reality is just a webinar recording) from SY about morph creation.

ERC freeze is part of it.

She switches on and off bone rotation but I did not really explain why and when one want it to be on or off.

Can somebody help with this?

What do you mean - she zeroes the pose? Or is this in the Adjust Rigging to Shape dialogue?

It is about the Adjust Rigging to Shape dialogue.

Trial-and-error, possibly, though in many cases it will be clear that the angles of the bones have not changed, just their location - something like digitigrade legs, on the other hand, probably would need the orientation changed.

Sometimes using adjust rigging to bones with all active, makes rotate some joints at 180° (usually near eyes). So deactivating the rotation it's the solution to avoid it

Thanks all, I understand it is a "no clear rules, it depends, guesswork" situation.
