Mac Install content on external drive

It seems no matter what I do in Daz preferences to set content directory, DIM insists on installing content on my limited space main hard drive.
If I change in DIM and point it to my external drive DAZ itself and the Postgres DB will fail to install.
Is there a way to install programs like daz itself on the main drive but other resources on the external drive?
If not, then I simply need to install and unstall resources on a need basis by my current project in order to keep my laptop internal drive empty enough to operate.

Can you post a screenshot of DIM's Advanced Settings - Installation tab
I'm having exactly the same problem trying to install onto my external drive no my M1 Mac Mini. Everything installs except Postgres and the main DAZ application. My DIM Advanced Settings - installation tab screenshot is attached.
All of the directories exist on the external drive. The error from the logs mentions a permissions problem when trying to read the downloaded zip files (which do exist and have rw permissions that seem correct).
