Creating Character Morphs for others

Hi

I just have a simple question for what I couldn't find an exacte answer in the forum.

I have created a few characters that I would like to make available to others.
I am only interested in the character morph, nothing else. This morph should be in the best case a single character morph without sepparate head and body morph.

I would first want to know how to save this morph for an already created character.

And secondly I would like to know if others can use this morph?

I used several morphs when I created the character, for example Aging Morphs for Genesis 8 Female(s).

Does the person also need to have this package to be able to use my morph?

This may help. And yes, they would need to own any products you used to make the character (in terms of morphs) in most cases.

If you have turned them into a single slider by exporting the shape as OBJ and reimporting it as a new morph then you cannot share it as the data it includes derives from others work.

If you didn't do that but still have the individual settings, or did that but still have the settings, then it is possible:

if you took an exported OBJ, modified it further, and reimported as a single morph then the first thing you need to do is scrap that final morph, reapply the preset for the shape you exported, then reimport your custom morph through Morph Loader Pro with the Reverse Deformations option set to separate your custom work from that of others.

With the shape applied, including your custom work from above if any, you need a slider for the morph - if you exported custom work you already have it, otherwise right-click in the Parameters pane to put it in Edit Mode, then right-click in the group you want to contain your morph and create a new property, name it, set its limits, etc.

With the shape applied, and your custom slider set to 100%, right-click on the slider and select ERC Freeze. The dialogue's list of Sub Components should be just the morphs used in making the shape - assuming that is OK click Accept.

Test you morphs to make sure it works.

Zero the new proeprty, then File>Save As>Support Assets>Morph Asset to save it - the Author and Product you choose will appear as folder names, /data/daz 3d/Genesis 8 Female/Morphs/Author/Product/ for example - which is what you want to give to others, probably a long with a preset to apply that morph.

  • I will try that later...thanks
