...I have a Titan-X and so far, yes.

However, Maxwell was put on Iray "depreciated" status in late 2020.

  • That's suckish as even a 12gb RTX (which isn't nearly enough vram for iray costs me all my discretionary spending (I'm on a fixed income) for the month and maybe a bit more depending on which one which brand I get and from where. So a 24gb Tesla m40 is ideal for $200 but a 12gb RTX for $300 something. Nah I'm good I LIKE having money to spend on other stuff I might want and not just a gpu that's only gonna get me but so far. It's because of this EXACT Situation I'm moving from doing the entire scenes AND renders in Daz to setting up and posing characters and objects in Daz and exporting them to other applications like unreal engine blender and c4d

    Iray RTX 2020.0.0, build 327300.2022

Only differences to the 2020.0.0 beta (above - 327300.312) will be listed here.

    Known Issues and Restrictions

    • Minimum driver requirement (to support CUDA 10.2) is 441.22 on Windows. For Turing GPUs the minimum driver requirement (to support OptiX 7.1) is 442.19 on Windows.
    • Support for SM 3.X/Kepler generation GPUs is still only marked as deprecated, but it will most likely be removed with the next release.
    • Support for SM 5.0/’Small’ Maxwell generation GPUs is marked as deprecated, and it will most likely be removed with the next major release.

    SM5.0/'Small Maxwell' means
    GeForce GTX 750 Ti, GTX 750, GTX 960M, GTX 950M, 940M, 930M, GTX 860M, GTX 850M, 845M, 840M, 830M
    Quadro K1200, K2200, K620, M2000M, M1000M, M600M, K620M, NVS 810 and Tesla M10

  • So I'm okay with getting a Tesla m40? For iray?

Nothing has been said about ending support for it yet, but it is an older card...
In order to render Iray on it, it would need new enough drivers and although the latest 473.57 drivers are still supported by the DS 4.20 there doesn't seem to be 5xx.xx drivers for it, which indicates that Nvidia could be dropping it's support.
