gizmo handles are offset on import

When I drag/drop the imported static mesh from the content browser, the gizmo/handle for transforms is offset from the mesh. Is there something I need to do on import to get them to line up?

I am exporting with default settings as static mesh.

  • I've noticed something similiar when sending a static mesh (prop, not skeletal mesh) over.  I'm suspisous that the daz to unreal export makes the "root" not at position 0,0,0.

Using props from daz with "survival game kit" from the unreal market place, an item from daz, when dropped by the character the item is left floating in the air at the location of the character, but ~5 or 6 feet off the ground.

If the daz to unreal team has any comments or suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

The daz bridge has been amazing other than "root" related issues.  I wouldn't have taken the year long deep dive I have into unreal without the daz to unreal bridge, and have found David's website (one of the team members) very useful.
