Aftermarket RTX 3090 vs Founder's Edition RTX 3090 Ti -- Help me choose

I'm ready to upgrade to an RTX 3090 but I'm not sure if I should get an Aftermarket 3090 or spend a bit more for the 3090 Ti Founder's Edition. The 3090 Founder's Edition is all sold out in my area; otherwise I would get that. I understand that for Daz the biggest consideration is VRAM and both of these cards have the same. Will the 3090 Ti provide any tangible benfit for my rendering, or should I save a couple hundred bucks and get an aftermarket 3090 non-Ti?

Thanks!

Trust me, go with the 3090.

The 3090 Ti is not that much more powerfull and it has the same quantity of VRam, but it's much hotter and has higher power consuption.

Remember that in september Nvdia will launch the next series of gpu that will be much more powerfull that the actual gen.

Save that money for the next series.

    You'll thank me later. yes

Thank you mangiomic! Good point on the heat and power consumption. I think I'll go with an aftermarket 3090 then. I probably won't wait for the 40 series but that's worth considering too.

I agree, BUT the aftermarket part has me concerned. I would never trust a GPU that I didn't get new from a reputable dealer

That was my concern as well, FSMCD. The cheapest aftermarket 3090 I can find is $2,100 CAD; the EVGA (a pretty reputable brand from what I gather) is $2,300; and the Founders 3090 Ti is $2,600. I'm leaning towards the EVGA right now.

Be careful where you buy the Evga. There was a truckload hijacked last year. Only buy new. From a store, you can trust.

Yes, in fact, I meant you now get the 3090 and save money ( compared to taking the 3090 TI) and then eventually switch to the new series, maybe next year.

Anyway just out of curiosity, where do you live? Here in Italy you can find a new 3090 at 1750 Euro.

    Ah yes. Good call :)

I live in Canada, where the Founder's Edition 3090 is priced at ~$2,050 (~€1550), but it's never in stock and most places don't even carry it. Even on the official nvidia Canada website the FE has disappeared! They do advertise the aftermarket versions, and they're still listing the 3090Ti.

I would take a non-Founder's Edition over a Founder's Edition.  Reason Founder's Edition cards have only one fan.  Any RTX 3000 series needs good cooling and a good power supply to drive it.  This one looks pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-Graphics-IceStorm-Advanced-ZT-A30900J-10P/dp/B08ZL6XD9H/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=RTX+3090&qid=1651980652&sr=8-6.=
