IRAY: Gens Shader?

Hello.
Excuse the title, but I didn't want to put anyone off their food :p
I don't have a GPU in my laptop, but I am loving IRAY. It is brilliant!!
I do just have one question. It's mainly about the Genesis 2 male genitals. Obviously, I've added the G2M shader material to the main body, but it won't work on the genitals.
So I added the Iray Uber base, but the gens are darker than the model.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thank you

Okay... so the thing is, the Uber Shader has a different settings than the Iray Male skin shader. So you'll need to copy the settings over.
The G2M male gens have 2 surface material areas... the Hips part, and the actual genitals.
The Hips can be very easy. Apply the Uber Shader to the Genitals prop. Assuming you've applied Iray materials to the base figure, you can select the Hips surface from the base figure, right click on the Hips surface, Copy the settings for the surface.
Then you select the genitals prop, go to the surfaces tab, right click on the Hips surface, and paste the settings in there.
Since it will also copy all the surface textures (Diffuse, Bump, etc), you may have to go back in & reselect all the proper genital textures on the Hip... but that's dependent on the skin you are using. (Hairless skins won't need the retexturing, in general)
For the actual genitals, again, you'll do a similar thing... but you definitely need to go back & apply the genitals textures afterwards.
-OR-
You can also write down all the settings you see in the Hips skin surface, and then manually apply them to the Genitals surfaces.
Another method that works is:
1. Apply the Iray Uber Base to the gens mats.
2. Select the hip of the figure.
3. Hit the + sign on the content library and save a shader preset of that hip material (shader, not material).
4. Select the gens mats again.
5. Ctrl+click the shader preset you saved and choose ignore for the textures.
Now the gens have their own textures but a shader setting that matches the body.
I've used this to match up the M4 or Ulf gens with Iray on G2M as well, actually.
Ha! Thanks!
I knew there had to be a better way to do it.
So, to the OP, you have to be in the Content Library pane (bottom left, usually), and the folder with the highlight needs to be a valid destination folder before the "+" button is active.
So, for me, my valid folder would be:
Daz Studio Format ->
My Library ->
Shaders ->
Genitals Iray
(I set up that last folder manually by right-clicking on the Shaders folder, and selecting "Create a Sub-Folder".)
It worked ^^
Thank you very much for your help :D
thanks that was useful guide for me too
i'm trying both methods here, but my gens remain white. any idea what's going on?
