Separating a surface into two different surfaces

odasteinodastein Posts: 606

I have a single piece of clothing that I want to separate into two different surfaces, in order to use a different shader on the two parts. I've done this in the past, but I don't remember how. I go into geometry, select the part I want to separate from the rest, but then...I can't remember what I must do next. Thanks in advance.

I don't see this option. Only "create selection set " and "create selection set from selected" under "geometry assignment".

OK, I figured it out . I was in "edge selection" instead of "polygon selection".
